Art is what feelings look like

The next post wasn't going to come so soon but after seeing my grades online a while ago.... :|.....DISMAL! so dismal it makes me question what am i going to do with my life. I have a feeling doctors don't fail chemistry and math.

She is one of my favorite artists and that ^ is exactly how I feel. I think if I were true to myself my ideal career choice would be in the field of art but someone once told me "There can be a fine line between being courageous in following your dreams and being self-destructive in the service of ego"

So haaaaaadcore crammin it is ....for the next four months at least.

Color has taken possession of me

 I have been doodling with ink and watercolor on paper all my life. It's my way of stirring up my imagination to see what I find hidden in my head. I call the results dream pictures, fantasy sketches, and even brain-sharpening exercises. - Maurice Sendak

These are my favorite water color artworks. (thank you google images :)) As I share more art with you, you'll realize i live in warm colors. I love oranges reds yellows and the fusion of these colors. To be honest, up until recently when someone said watercolor, the first thing that pops into my mind is the elementary set of poster paints everyone gets when they are five and proceed to mix the colors into browns eventually :

However after sifting through artwork like the ones above I realize the magnitude of the potential of watercolor! When I start painting again, I'll ATTEMPT watercolor. For all you bedroom artists out there please leave tips!




This is my absolute favorite because for some reason it reminds me of home ! 
(u kno...cuz i'm jamaican....an he's a rasta child.....ah forget it. lol )


p.s. when i get better at describing art pretentiously, ill start making douchey comments like....'pay attention to blending of pigments that create a more sensous than cerebral imagery....." :D
